The first time I met Jackie and Flavio, who wanted me to be their photographer for their wedding, I didn’t hesitate to suggest a “crazy idea.”
Whenever I meet a new couple, I always ask for some details about their love story. Since Mount Grona was the place of Jackie and Flavio first date and also the location of their proposal, the idea of taking photos right on the top came to my mind.
Flavio and Jackie, both mountain lovers like me, immediately accepted my proposal without hesitation.
The actual wedding ceremony was held at the equally picturesque chapel of the Alpini at Monti Di Gottro (still with a view of Mount Grona).
Two days later, with my assistant Chiara, the newlyweds and their little dog Paco, we set off early in the morning to reach the summit. A two-hour climb awaited us, and even though our backpacks were pretty heavy with clothes and equipment, none of us could wait to be at the top.
The breathtaking 360° view of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains immediately fill us with emotion and allowed us to capture beautiful, unique photos. I’m sure these photos will remain as a wonderful memory of the couple’s love and happiness.
The mountain offers us the decor… It’s up to us to invent the story that goes whit it!
